new album >> STRFKR : Miracle Mile

Starfucker Miracle Mile >> will be released this Tuesday [2.19] in the US. It's the 3rd full length studio album in the band's 6-year tenure though they've released a handful of EP's which have put them on this path to Miracle Mile.

Starfucker >> Miracle Mile

Miracle Mile follows 2011's Reptilians which was chocked full of superb electropop gems and this release doesn't disappoint with 15 new tracks that demonstrate continued growth in the band while keeping the crisp electronica sound that converted me into a huge fan.

They even mix up the tempos quite a bit throughout the album, which is something they haven't done too much in previous releases. That's not a complaint because I love all the uptempo happy tracks I'm accustomed to hearing but songs like 'Kahlil Gibran' and 'Say To You' illustrate their ability to pack a punch outside their normal delivery.

The opening track and first single off Miracle Mile is 'While I'm Alive' and it sets the tone nicely for the rest of the album with a classic upbeat and a funky bassline. It's one of the best ones on this release along with 'Malmo'. But my favorite tracks are a pocket in the back half of the album starting with 'Atlantis' then 'Leave It All Behind' and 'I Don't Want To See'. This combo goes from modern disco to super synthetic electro then a new wave feel.

'Atlantis' has definitely been the play of this past weekend and I'm guessing it's probably the next single. Make sure you get Miracle Mile on Tuesday. Your earholes will thank you.
