New Releases >> May: Daft Punk | Vampire Weekend | Little Boots | CocoRosie | Fitz & The Tantrums

May >> the force be with you. That is, the force of legendary robots storm trooping into this month with new and very long awaited albums. Whether you're human, not human, no longer human or whatever, you have been waiting nearly a decade for this month.

Daft Punk >> Get Lucky

If you were at Coachella with me during Weekend 1 or happened to be at home watching Saturday Night Live at that time, then you saw a glimpse of Daft Punk's new single and video 'Get Lucky' off Random Access Memories which will drop on MAY-21. The robots have come back in judgement day fashion to re-invent and re-invigorate real electronic music and take back what they helped pioneer way back when Skrillex was popping his first zits and Porter Robinson was still shitting his knickers.

In addition to what we've seen released featuring Pharrel Williams and Nile Rogers, Daft Punk also joins forces with artists from Julian Casablancas to DJ Falcon on the upcoming release. The innovativeness of Daft Punk plus the select global coalition of contributors certainly make Random Access Memories the most anticipated release in years, for me at least. They've done a nice job containing leakage of the rest of the album too. I pretty much can't find shit but that will just make the 21st that much more savory. So in the mean time, here are some other notable albums to get after. Vampire Weekend. Little Boots. Fitz. CocoRosie. Sold.
