Nu Muzik > iiO

iiO Exit 110 > it’s hard to believe it’s been an entire decade since iiO dropped ‘Rapture’ on us and changed the dance scene forever. Today NYC’s Markus Moser and Nadia Ali are back with a new full-length studio release Exit 110 from Made Records.

iiO > Exit 110

This album is comprised of a mosaic of classic Moser dance anthems along with the distinctly euphoric vocals from Nadia as a featured artist - she split up the duo over 5 years ago to run solo but there’s no apparent difference to the familiar iiO formula since she’s on every single song on this album but the outro/title track ‘Exit 110’.

But production-wise the LP is different. It’s very well-produced, there a variety of new, crisp sounds introduced to the always up-tempo rhythm you can expect from Moser and he has become much craftier in the mix. He uses a more sophisticated drum technique in a lot of the songs, expecially in 'Fiend', and in the opening track 'It'll Be Like' he manipulates the vocals in a way that sounds like your iTunes is being overworked all while the sick beat persistently shakes shit around the house.

This album doesn't really slow down, which is a good thing. The down-tempo songs in the past like 'Smooth' tend to abruptly ask you to sit down but this release's abundance of BPM keeps the dance party going. The aforementioned along with Nadia's pipes working effectively on every track make this disc a no-brainer for any electronic fan's collection.
