Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy > it's been a minute since Kanye was last in the limelight and two since his last album, but the time away hibernating boded well.

Kanye West > My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the title of the album released today but also the theme of the seemingly trying time Kanye has had living with himself this past year. Apparently what was left of his sanity after the Taylor Swift VMA incident was further deteriorated into almost a Van Gogh-like state - okay so this is sort of an exaggeration but check out the above album cover which is one of several abstract artworks that do not depict an animated, academia-oriented bear. He also joined Twitter this summer and his tweets indicate he isn't quite all there - but he's been very entertaining nonetheless.

But it's all the better for fans of Kanye West and his music. Whatever it is/was inspired another gem and this album is impressive the first time through and repeatedly stronger thereafter. The beats are crisp and while some of West's lyrics don't always make sense, his flow is undeniably as good as if not better than it has always been.

In the album you'll hear tracks featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross and John Legend, to name just a few. At the moment the illest of them all is 'Gorgeous' with Kid Cudi and Raekwon. Another sick song is 'Monster' featuring more from Jay-Z and Rick Ross with a touch of Bon Iver and Nicki Minaj, who tears this track up in a major way [btw, today is also Pink Friday, the release of her new album].

This is a dope dope album with a handful of mix tape material. Pick it up and make it snappy    :j Marc
